I am a trained hairdresser and have worked in the industry for over 30 years. I owned my own salon for 8 years before becoming a qualified hairdressing lecturer gaining experience at various colleges over the last 15 years.
I became interested in hair loss when I worked with clients who had problems with hair loss and thinning hair. Realising that I had the relevant hairdressing skills I did not have the technical knowledge needed for hair replacement. I was eager to find a solution for clients with hair loss problems.
This led me to research into hair loss and hair replacement and what methods could be used without drastic measures. I eventually found a training course in London with a recognised City & Guilds teacher that helped me gain the right qualification and skills to help my clients.
This has made such a difference being able to offer clients a way to give them a solution to their problems and see the positive affect it has on the client. The results are amazing and it is so nice to see the difference it can make.
I can also offer services for wig cutting and maintenance. I have been trained in customising wigs with Trevor Sorbie MBE and his team at the L’Oreal Training Academy London as part of the ‘My new hair’ charity . I was inspired by Trevor’s passion for providing this service and also the Macmillan nurses who spoke at the seminar giving advise and guidance relating to clients who are experiencing hair loss. Since completing the training I have worked as a volunteer for Macmillan at my local Clatterbridge centre offering hair and wig advice to patients.
I offer a free private consultation to discuss whether a hair replacement system is suitable for you and an estimate of costs and maintenance. You can look at samples of hair systems and wigs and clients are under no obligation or pressure. I work from my home studio in Crosby offering a service for clients who want discretion and privacy at a difficult time.
